Recommended Vaccines

Routine vaccinations are an important part of owning a pet and keeping him/her healthy. Vaccines help prevent against illness and sometimes serious disease. See our recommended vaccine schedule below.

Dog Vaccine Schedule

  • Rabies

    • First dose at or greater than 12 weeks of age

    • Booster 1 year from date of first dose, then annually

  • Distemper/Parvo (DA2PP)

    • Start at 6 weeks of age (or weaning)

    • Booster every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks of age

    • Booster 1 year from date of first dose, then again the following year, then every 3 years after                                                                          2 years of age

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

    • Single vaccine at 8-16 weeks

    • Annual booster after first dose

    • Recommended for high risk dogs (goes boarding or grooming, travels, goes to dog parks, etc.)

  • Canine Influenza

    • First dose at 6-8 weeks of age

    • Booster 2-4 weeks after first dose

    • Annual booster after second dose

    • Recommended for high risk dogs (goes boarding or grooming, travels, goes to dog parks, etc.)

  • Rattlesnake

    • First dose at 16 weeks of age

    • Booster 4 weeks after first dose

    • Annual booster (recommended mid-March for our area)

    • Recommended for high risk dogs (lives in country, hunting dog, farm dog, etc.)

  • Leptospirosis

    • First dose at or older than 8 weeks of age​

    • Booster 2-4 weeks after first dose

    • Annual booster after second dose

Cat Vaccine Schedule

  • Rabies

    • First dose at or older than 12 weeks of age

    • Booster 1 year from date of first dose, then annually

  • Respiratory Complex (FVRCP)

    • First dose at or older than 6 weeks of age

    • Booster every 3-4 weeks until 16-20 weeks of age

    • Booster at 6 months, then every 3 years

  • Feline Leukemia Virus

    • First dose at or older than 8 weeks of age

    • Booster 3-4 weeks after first dose

    • Booster annually if high risk (goes outdoors at all or is exposed to cats that go outdoors)

    • Booster every 2 years if low risk (indoor, single cat household)
